GRSC JOINS MIDWEST PREMIER LEAGUE (MWPL)

Grand Rapids SC is thrilled to announce our participation in the Midwest Premier League (MWPL) for the upcoming 2025 season. Here's why we've chosen to join this flourishing league:

Community and Values: The MWPL is more than just a league; it's a community that shares our commitment to competition and the promotion of local talent. Our ethos aligns with the league's emphasis on grassroots football, where soccer serves as a platform for representation for both fans and players.

Brand Enhancement: We anticipate that competing against teams with passionate fanbases in nearby regions will enrich the local soccer culture. We are excited to foster fun, engaging rivalries within our MWPL Great Lakes West division, which will undoubtedly boost fan engagement.

Established Clubs: We hold great respect for established clubs like Tulip City United SC and Lansing Common FC, who have built strong identities within the MWPL. Our goal is to deepen these connections, enhancing soccer as both a competitive sport and an entertainment experience throughout the Midwest.

Fan Accessibility: With many away games closer to home, our supporters will have the opportunity to easily travel and cheer us on, fostering a stronger community bond through soccer.

Summer Schedule: The MWPL's summer schedule coincides with a time when the Grand Rapids soccer community might have more leisure time. This alignment provides a better opportunity for fans to attend matches and support our local players in a competitive regional setting.

We are eager to begin this new chapter, community-building alongside the high-quality clubs in the Midwest Premier League. We look forward to an exciting season of soccer that strengthens the bonds within our community and the broader soccer family in the Midwest.
